Lethbridge Police arrested two men after an incident Thursday night that resulted in significant damage to two police vehicles.
On January 25, 2018 police observed a stolen Ford F-350 truck at the West Side Trailer Court along the 2700 block of Westside Drive. The truck matched the description of a vehicle that had previously been involved in a break, enter and theft in Coaldale. When police attempted to stop the truck, the suspects fled and rammed two LPS vehicles at a high rate of speed, causing significant damage. The truck continued to flee north on Westside Drive then proceeded west onto Highway 3 towards Coalhurst. In an effort to stop the truck, police deployed stop sticks along Highway 3 resulting in several of the truck’s tires being deflated. The truck continued to flee onto secondary Highway 519. Approximately 11 km south of Highway 3 the suspect vehicle stopped briefly, the passenger exited and was taken into custody. The driver continued southbound for approximately 500 meters until the truck became stuck in a ditch. The driver was subsequently taken into custody.
The passenger is facing numerous charges and charges - from both Lethbridge and Coaldale - are pending against the driver.
