Two people charged with impaired driving following collisions

 

Lethbridge Regional Police have charged two people with impaired driving in separate incidents involving collisions.  

On August 31, 2014 at 0150 hrs LRPS responded to a complaint of a single vehicle roll over on EB Whoop Up Dr.  Police and EMS arrived on scene to find a white Mazda 3 in the south ditch of the southbound Scenic Dr exit.  The male passenger (21) was taken to Chinook Regional Hospital by EMS due to his injuries.  The driver was also taken to the hospital for assessment and minor injuries. The passenger was later airlifted by STARS ambulance to Calgary for head injuries.

Brett Wayne Aanestad (22) of Vulcan is charged with impaired driving causing bodily harm, driving over .08 and dangerous driving. He is scheduled to appear in court September 5, 2014 at 9:30 am.

On August 30, 2014 at approximately 1700 hrs the LRPS responded to a complaint that a white Ford Escape had collided with a parked vehicle at 5 Acadia Road West. Before police arrived the driver fled from the scene on foot. Several witnesses reported that the vehicle driver, was heavily intoxicated and hid in a nearby residence.  Police were able to locate the driver and arrested her for impaired driving and leaving scene of collision. The driver refused to provide breath samples and was charged for impaired driving, refusal to provide breath samples, dangerous driving and leaving scene of collision. 

 Tanya Cindy Daychief (30) of Lethbridge has been charged and is set to appear in court on October 1, 2014 at 9:30 am.
