Lethbridge Police have charged two people following a short term investigation into drug activity downtown.
Following several complaints from the public and information forwarded to police by concerned citizens, members of the Downtown Policing Unit conducted a short term investigation that resulted in the arrest of a male and female. On June 3, 2018 police located a male suspect along the 800 block of 6 Avenue South where he was arrested without incident on outstanding drug warrants. During a search incidental to arrest police located a quantity of methamphetamine and marihuana. A female was arrested a short time later in Galt Gardens and a further quantity of methamphetamine was seized.
Jerome Ross, 36, of Lethbridge, is charged with possession of methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking, possession of marihuana, obstructing a peace officer and three counts of breach of a recognizance. Ross was remanded in custody to appear in court June 8.
Dayna Michelle Scout, 33, of Lethbridge, is charged with possession of methamphetamine. She was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in court July 13.
