Following a late night standoff with police, two males – who were wanted on outstanding warrants – are now in custody.
On November 26, 2018 members of the Lethbridge Police Priority Crimes Unit were actively searching for a 23-year-old male, wanted in connection with a break, enter and theft of firearms from a northside home earlier this month. The male was located inside a home along Blackfoot Boulevard late in the evening, but refused to exit or make contact with police. As a result, the Critical Incident Response Team was deployed. Four people – the 23-year-old male suspect, along with a second male wanted in connection with the same incident, and two females – exited the home several hours later and were taken into custody. A search warrant was subsequently executed and police recovered a .22 caliber handgun.
Dylan Ivan Sokol, 23, of Lethbridge, is charged with being unlawfully at large, break and enter to steal firearms and uttering threats.
Carter Dylan Rains, 26, of Lethbridge, is charged with break and enter to steal firearms and breach of a recognizance.
Both remain in custody awaiting a Judicial Interim Release hearing.
The two females were released without charges.
Investigation in the matter is ongoing and no further information will be released.
