Two women charged in connection with December assault

 Lethbridge Regional Police have charged two women in connection with an assault that occurred last month at a local mall.

 On Dec. 28, 2013 at approximately 4:15 p.m. an argument between a 28-year-old female and 27-year-old female, who are known to one another, escalated to a physical fight in the area of the food court at Park Place Mall. During the fight the 28-year-old woman assaulted the 27-year-old woman with a pair of scissors and the 27-year-old woman stabbed the 28-year-old woman with a knife. The 27-year-old was taken to hospital with serious, but non-life-threatening injuries. The 28-year-old was located a short time later and arrested without incident.

 Following further investigation both women were charged.

 Police would also like to thank members of the public who came forward with information following this incident. Their assistance is appreciated.

 Ashely Lynn Gros Ventre Boy, 27, is charged with aggravated assault, assault with a weapon and possession of an offensive weapon. She was scheduled to appear in court Wednesday.

 Stella Andrea McKenzie, 28, of no fixed address, is charged with two counts of assault with a weapon and possession of an offensive weapon as well as one count of breach of an undertaking. She is scheduled to appear in court Jan. 15.
