As Canada Post has withdrawn its 72-hour notice to lockout employees and mail delivery is continuing at this time, police will resume mailing photo radar tickets and Police Information Checks.
Police will continue to monitor the situation closely and update the public accordingly should a disruption to postal services occur.
At present, PICs and photo radar tickets will be mailed to recipients as usual.
PREVIOUSLY RELEASED ON JULY 7, 2016:
Due to the imminent Canada Post strike/lock-out, the Lethbridge Police Service has temporarily suspended the mailing of all Police Information Checks and photo radar tickets.
Until the postal disruption has ended completed Police Information Checks (PIC) will be available for pick-up by the applicant at the front counter of the police station.
At this time anyone who submitted a PIC between May 26, 2016 and June 1, 2016 may attend the front counter Monday to Friday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.; Saturday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. to retrieve their certificate.
As additional PICs are processed, pick-up information and updates will be posted to the Lethbridge Police website www.lethbridgepolice.ca/police-information-check and the Service’s Twitter and Facebook accounts.
Photo radar and other traffic summons will not be mailed out until such time the postal disruption has ended. Once regular postal service resumes, tickets will be mailed. Enforcement efforts are ongoing and will not be impacted.
