UPDATE: Lethbridge Regional Police have charged two additional subjects in relation a Coaldale home invasion. A 14-year-old male and 17-year-old male, both of Coaldale, were located and arrested without incident.
The 17-year-old male is charged with housebreaking and commit robbery, disguised with intent, possession of an offensive weapon and assault with a weapon. The 17-year-old male made his first court appearance Sept. 18.
The 14-year-old male is charged with housebreaking and commit robbery and disguised with intent. The 14-year-old male is scheduled to appear in court Oct. 8.
Lethbridge Regional Police have charged an 18-year-old man in connection with a home invasion late Tuesday night in Coaldale.
On Sept. 16, 2014 at approximately 11:48 p.m. police responded to a report of a break and enter in progress after three masked subjects entered a home along the 900 block of 21 Avenue and confronted the occupants. One of the subjects discharged pepper spray and assaulted a 23-year-old male occupant with a bat. The victim was able to overcome the assault and ultimately held his assailant until police arrived. The two other subjects fled the home prior to police arrival. K-9 Teams attended and conducted a track of the area, but a search for the two subjects was negative.
An 18-year-old man was arrested at the scene and police seized pepper spray, a bat and other break-in tools. Investigation has determined this incident was drug-related and not a random crime.
The investigation is ongoing to locate two outstanding male subjects.
Jake Jesse Blazek, 18, of Coaldale, is charged with house breaking and commit robbery, disguised with intent, possession of an offensive weapon and two counts of assault with a weapon. Blazek was remanded to appear in court today.
