Warrant issued for the arrest of a woman charged in connection with a stabbing

Lethbridge Police have charged a 35-year-old woman with aggravated assault and a warrant has been issued for her arrest.

On April 14, 2018 at approximately 2:22 p.m. police responded to a report of a stabbing along the 900 block of 8 Avenue South. Upon arrival officers located an injured male on the sidewalk. EMS subsequently transported the 33-year-old victim to hospital for treatment of serious injuries. The parties involved are known to one another.

Following further investigation by members of the Criminal Investigation Section, it was determined the victim and accused had been involved in a brief argument that resulted in the male being stabbed.

Janice Grant, 35, is charged with aggravated assault, assault with a weapon and possession of a weapon dangerous to the public.

Grant’s whereabouts are currently unknown and a warrant has been issued for her arrest.
