Woman's death officially ruled a homicide; investigation ongoing

The death of a 56-year-old woman has officially been ruled a homicide following an autopsy that was completed earlier today in Calgary.

The victim has been identified as Frances Candice Little Light, of Lethbridge. The cause of her death is not being released at this time.

On February 7, 2016 at approximately 5:15 p.m. police and EMS responded to a report of severely injured female in an apartment complex along the 100 block of Columbia Boulevard. Upon arrival, emergency responders located Little Light inside her apartment and a short time later she was pronounced dead. Several people from the apartment were subsequently detained for questioning and a search of the area was conducted by the K9 Unit.

Police are continuing to conduct interviews and pursue other avenues of investigation. There are no suspects in custody at this time.
