Lethbridge Police Hosting Fraud Prevention Information Sessions

The Lethbridge Police Service’s Economic Crimes Unit is partnering with the Cor Van Raay YMCA to host two free Fraud Prevention Information Sessions on Thursday, October 22, 2026. 

“Over the last ten years, incidents of fraud in our community have doubled,” says Sergeant Tanner Hansen of the LPS Economic Crimes Unit. “To combat this growing problem - and the technology that facilitates it – we’re working to support our community through innovative fraud investigations, strong community partnerships and proactive education. These information sessions are an important part of that work, helping residents gain the knowledge and tools they need to recognize fraud, protect their personal information and support friends and family members who may be vulnerable to scams.”

Open to all members of the community, the sessions will focus on current fraud trends, common scams, identity theft prevention and practical strategies to help residents protect themselves and their loved ones from becoming victims.

Two identical sessions will be offered to accommodate a variety of schedules:

AFTERNOON SESSION:

Date: Thursday, October 22, 2026.

Time: 2:00-3:00 p.m.

EVENING SESSION:

Date: Thursday, October 22, 2026.

Time: 7:00-8:00 p.m.
