Male charged with aggravated assault in connection with stabbing

Lethbridge Police have charged an 18-year-old male in connection with an incident where a 21-year-old male was stabbed.

On March 24, at approximately 1 a.m. police responded to a motel along the 2200 block of 7 Avenue South after a report of an injured male in the lobby. Police located a 21-year-old male with stab injuries. He was transported to hospital by EMS with non-life-threatening injuries. An 18-year-old male was subsequently arrested without incident at the scene and a knife was recovered.

Following further investigation it was determined the parties involved are known to one another and had been socializing with several other people in one of the rooms when a dispute occurred and resulted in the victim being stabbed.

Robert Junior Rabbit, 18, of Lethbridge, is charged with aggravated assault and possession of an offensive weapon. Rabbit was remanded in custody and scheduled to appear in court today.
