Man charged in aggravated assault outside downtown night club

Lethbridge Police have charged a man in connection to an aggravated assault outside of a local night club on December 22, 2024.
On January 1, 2025, investigators identified the individual responsible for the assault and learned that evidence, including the weapon believed to have been used, was located in a residence on the Blood Reserve. Working in collaboration with the Blood Tribe Police Service, a search warrant was executed and the man was arrested and transported to Lethbridge.
Chandler Medicine Crane, 19, of Stand Off, Alberta, is charged with aggravated assault and possession of a weapon. Medicine Crane is currently in custody and is awaiting a Judicial Interim Release hearing.

Police seeking witnesses in aggravated assault outside downtown night club
Lethbridge Police are investigating an aggravated assault outside a downtown night club and are asking anyone who was in the area at the time or witnessed the incident to come forward.
On December 22, just before 5 a.m. an officer patrolling along the 200 block of 13 Street South heard someone calling for help and located a 24-year-old male on the ground. The male was found to be in medical distress and EMS transported him to hospital.
Investigation determined the male had previously been at Pulse along the 1000 block of 1 Avenue South around 2:20 a.m. when he became involved in a physical altercation with a group of males near a black pick-up truck parked in front of the night club. Following the altercation, the victim left the area on foot and did not realize until later in the morning that he had sustained serious injuries.
The subjects are described as three Indigenous males, one with a larger build. No clothing description or other information could be provided.
The victim remains in hospital in stable condition.
Police are asking anyone who was in the area of Pulse night club between 2 a.m. and 3 a.m. on December 22, and may have observed the victim/subjects or witnessed the altercation, to call police at 403-328-4444 and reference file 24024988.
The investigation is ongoing and no further information will be released at this time.
