Motorcycle Road Safety

With the arrival of warmer weather, more motorcycles are hitting the road and it's important for all drivers to be aware.

Tips for sharing the road safely:

ALL DRIVERS:
•    Be aware of your blind spots
•    Leave sufficient space when travelling behind a motorcycle, don’t tailgate!
•    Use your turn signals
•    Dim your headlights
•    Be careful taking left turns
•    Don’t consume alcohol or drugs then drive

MOTORCYCLE RIDERS:
•    Wear a helmet that meets the standard for motorcycle safety helmets
•    Get comfortable with your motorcycle
•    Check your bike before every ride
•    Wear reflective/high visibility gear
•    Ride defensively
•    Watch for vehicles turning right in front of you
•    Obey the rules of the road
•    Be aware of the weather
•    Don’t consume alcohol or drugs then drive
