Motorcycle Road Safety
With the arrival of warmer weather, more motorcycles are hitting the road and it's important for all drivers to be aware.
Tips for sharing the road safely:
ALL DRIVERS:
• Be aware of your blind spots
• Leave sufficient space when travelling behind a motorcycle, don’t tailgate!
• Use your turn signals
• Dim your headlights
• Be careful taking left turns
• Don’t consume alcohol or drugs then drive
MOTORCYCLE RIDERS:
• Wear a helmet that meets the standard for motorcycle safety helmets
• Get comfortable with your motorcycle
• Check your bike before every ride
• Wear reflective/high visibility gear
• Ride defensively
• Watch for vehicles turning right in front of you
• Obey the rules of the road
• Be aware of the weather
• Don’t consume alcohol or drugs then drive
