Police charge female with mischief in graffiti spree
Lethbridge Police have charged a 42-year-old female with numerous counts of mischief in connection with a graffiti spree.
On April 6, the Downtown Policing Unit initiated a mischief investigation into a series of graffiti incidents after an officer conducting proactive patrols along the 1200 block of 2 A Avenue North observed graffiti on the wall of a business. The tag had not been there earlier in the day. During the remainder of the officer’s shift, a total of eight graffiti tags – all featuring the same imagery – were located on the walls of various businesses in the area. Several more of the same tags were later located on other buildings and property in the vicinity.
On April 12, while responding to an unrelated call along the 800 block of 2 A Avenue North, the officer observed additional matching graffiti tags on the pavement and follow-up investigation led to the identification of a female subject.
On April 21, the subject was located and arrested without incident.
Anita Dawn Ring, 42, of Lethbridge, is charged with 13 counts of mischief under $5,000. Ring was released on an undertaking with conditions prohibiting her from possessing any graffiti implements.
Ring is scheduled to appear in court June 17.
