Police charge male with indecent acts, breach of conditions

Lethbridge Police have charged a 59-year old male with committing an indecent act following an incident at a city park.

On October 15 around 3 p.m., police responded to a report of an indecent act at the playground in Galt Gardens along the 600 block of 3 Avenue South. Witnesses reported that an unknown male sat on a bench near multiple children who were playing in the area and was observed committing an indecent act. Members of the Downtown Policing Unit attended and located a male matching the suspect description a short time later. He was subsequently arrested without incident.

At the time of the arrest, police determined the male was bound by conditions prohibiting him from attending any city park.

Sean Celdar Wilcox, 59, of Lethbridge, is charged with one count of committing an indecent act in a public place, one count of indecent exposure in the presence of youth under 16 and two counts of failing to comply with a probation order.

Wilcox is currently in custody awaiting a Judicial Interim Release hearing.
