Police investigating after BB gun rounds fired at northside properties

MEDIA RELEASE

Lethbridge Police are investigating multiple incidents where BB gun rounds have been fired at residential properties – including two at the same senior citizens’ lodge within the past 24 hours.

On January 24 police responded to a report that the eastside emergency exit door at Blue Sky Lodge along the 1400 block of 16 Avenue North had been shot with BB gun rounds sometime overnight for the second time in 24 hours. The first incident, involving the same door, occurred overnight January 22-23. In both incidents, multiple rounds were fired through the glass, dispersing glass fragments down a hallway. No one was injured.

On January 23 just before 6:30 p.m. police responded to a report that a window at a home along the 1100 block of 18 A Street North had been shot with a BB round. Occupants of the home heard a loud crack and discovered a hole in their kitchen window. Upon checking outside, a suspicious male, approximately 6’0” tall, dressed in dark clothing and a hat was observed walking northbound through the alley. No one inside the home was injured.

Investigation in these matters is ongoing.

Police are asking anyone who may have observed suspicious activity in the areas or has any information that could assist investigators, to call police at 403-328-4444 and reference file 24001388.
