Police officer conditionally discharged in connection with on-duty incident
A Lethbridge Police officer, who plead guilty to assault in connection with an on-duty incident, has been conditionally discharged.
The officer was charged following an incident May 10, 2023 in the LPS Short Term Holding Facility. A physical altercation, that did not result in any injuries, occurred while a male prisoner was being booked into cells.
Chris Stock, a 23-year member of the Service, plead guilty in Calgary Court of Justice and received a conditional discharge, including one year of probation.
A conditional discharge means a finding of guilt is made, but no conviction is entered. Upon completion of the probationary period the discharge is removed from the individual’s record after a set time.
An internal investigation, which has been in abeyance pending the outcome of the court matter, will now proceed.
No further information will be released.
