Police seize thousands of doses of fentanyl and nearly $10,000 in proceeds of crime
Lethbridge Police have charged 28-year-old woman with drug trafficking offences following a suspicious vehicle complaint that resulted in the seizure of a significant quantity of drugs and cash proceeds of crime.
On December 19, police responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle in a southside neighbourhood. Members of the Crime Suppression Team and Property Crimes Unit observed activity consistent with drug trafficking and the female driver was later arrested along the 100 block of 1 Avenue South. Police subsequently obtained a search warrant for the vehicle and seized approximately 286 grams of fentanyl (2,860 individual doses), 87 grams of methamphetamine (870 doses) and 3.4 grams of heroin. In addition, police seized $9,727 in cash proceeds of crime from the driver. The total street value of the drugs is estimated at approximately $16,900.
Alannah Rilley Anderson, 28, of Lethbridge, is charged with two counts of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking and one count of possession of the proceeds of crime over $5,000.
Following a Judicial Interim Release hearing, Anderson was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in court January 28, 2025.
