Two people charged in downtown break and enter, investigation ongoing
Lethbridge Police have charged a male and female in connection with a break and enter at a downtown business earlier this week.
On September 23, at 5:20 a.m., staff arrived at Cookie Crimes along the 300 block of 6 Street South and discovered the front window had been smashed. Police were called and the investigation determined the break-in occurred at approximately 1:30 a.m. after two subjects smashed the glass and entered the store. Throughout the night video surveillance recorded eight more subjects enter the business through the broken window and steal property. In total over $1,500 worth of ice cream and other property was stolen and damages to the business are estimated at $1000.
Following further investigation, two subjects were identified and arrested by the Downtown Policing Unit. The investigation is currently ongoing to identify the remaining subjects.
Kathy Marie Mills, 29, of Lethbridge is charged with break and enter to commit theft. Following a Judicial Interim Release hearing Mills was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in court Oct. 11.
Davey Clifford Weasel Moccasin, 26, of Lethbridge, is charged with break and enter to commit theft. He was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in court Nov. 6.
