Community invited to make a splash for Special Olympics
The Lethbridge Police Service, in partnership with the Law Enforcement Torch Run, is encouraging community members to register for the 2026 Polar Plunge and brave the cold for a cause.
This year’s event is set for Saturday, February 7 in Festival Square along the 600 block of 3 Avenue South.
The annual Polar Plunge raises money and awareness for Special Olympics, while providing #freezinforareason bragging rights for those bold enough take an icy dip. Afterwards, a hot tub, generously provided by Arctic Spas, will help restore core temperatures.
Individuals or teams can register in advance at https://soa.crowdchange.ca/127515 or 10 a.m. in Festival Square on the day of the event. The cost to register is $50. Donations can be made using the same link and will also be accepted at the plunge. Tax receipts will be provided for amounts over $25.
All plungers must be a minimum of 16-years-old to participate. Cool costumes are strongly encouraged! Change tents will be available on site however there will be no secure storage for valuables.
