Cougar not located - residents advised to avoid the Indian Battle Park area

UPDATE

Following an extensive search, the cougar has not been located. Fish and Wildlife have cleared the area and put up signage to increase awareness. 

In the meantime, residents are advised to remain cautious about the cougar’s possible presence in the area and to continue to avoid Indian Battle Park for the time being. If sighted, please call 403-328-4444.

PREVIOUSLY RELEASED

At  approximately 5:00pm, Lethbridge Police received a report of a cougar in the coulees in the Indian Battle Park area.  Fish and Wildlife have been contacted.  Police are asking residents to avoid the area at this time.
