Driver ticketed following vehicle collision with building
Lethbridge Police have issued two tickets to the 25-year-old driver of a vehicle that collided with a northside building Wednesday afternoon.
On September 24, just after 2 p.m., police responded to a report that vehicle had been driven into a building along the 500 block of 13 Street North. Upon arrival, officers located an SUV almost fully inside. Further investigation determined a 25-year-old female driver had mistaken the gas pedal for the brake. No one was injured in the crash but the building and vehicle sustained extensive damage.
Police determined the driver did not have valid insurance and held only a learner’s license.
The driver was issued violation tickets for driving without insurance and a learner driver operating a motor vehicle without proper supervision.
She is scheduled to appear in court December 9 to answer to the ticket for operating an uninsured vehicle. The GDL violation carries a specified penalty of $324.
