Holiday Giving in Action - 6th Annual Charity Checkstop
The Lethbridge Police Service is once again partnering with a number of community agencies to make Christmas a little brighter for those less fortunate.
The 6th Annual Charity Checkstop will be held on Saturday, December 6, 2025 from noon to 4 p.m. Lethbridge Police officers and staff will be volunteering onsite at the Park Place Mall’s west parking lot (by the old Sears), collecting new unwrapped gifts, non-perishable food items and cash donations in support of local Christmas Hope initiatives.
Christmas Hope coordinates donations for the Interfaith Food Bank, the Lethbridge Food Bank, Lethbridge Family Services (Angel Tree), MyCityCare (Shop of Wonders), The Salvation Army (Toys for Tots), and – new this year - the Lethbridge Senior Citizens Organization (Golden Giving Tree). Their goal is to limit any duplication of services so that everyone in the community receives what they need during the holidays.
“As the need in our community continues to grow, we’re proud to welcome the Lethbridge Senior Centre Organization to Christmas Hope this year,” says Lindsay Prete, Angel Tree Coordinator with Lethbridge Family Services and a member of Christmas Hope. “Their involvement ensures that our seniors—along with children and families—are supported during the holidays. Charity Checkstop is a powerful reflection of what happens when our community comes together with compassion, and we’re incredibly grateful for the generosity we see year after year.”
“Supporting our community is at the heart of what we do, and Charity Checkstop is one of the most meaningful ways we can give back during the holiday season,” notes Cst. Dana Holland of the Community Engagement Unit. “Our members are proud to stand behind this initiative and help ensure families and individuals who are struggling have the support they need. Christmas is a time for generosity and care, and we’re committed to doing our part to make the season brighter for everyone.”
The Lethbridge Police Service’s 6th Annual Charity Checkstop has also been graciously supported by the following community-oriented sponsors: the Lethbridge Police Association, Park Place Mall, Two Guys Flooring, Grassroots Realty, and Toys R Us.
Join us on Saturday December 6, 2025 to help make the holidays shine for everyone.
