Male youth taken into custody
UPDATE: Police have taken one male youth safely into custody.
The investigation is ongoing and no further information will be released at this time.
The public may resume use of the area.

Police investigating report of suspicious male with a weapon
Lethbridge Police are on scene in area of the 500 block of 18 Street South in response to a report of a young male armed with a knife.
At approximately 11:15 a.m., police responded to the east campus of Catholic Central High School along the 400 block of 18 Street South, following a report of a suspicious male in the cafeteria who was observed to be in possession of a knife. The male left the school and was last seen walking northbound in the direction of St. Francis Junior High.
The male’s current whereabouts are unknown and police are attempting to locate him. He is described as an Indigenous teenaged male, wearing a dark hoodie, dark pants and a black hat with longer hair sticking out.
Schools in the area are currently in lock down as a precaution and police are directing the public to avoid the area.
