Package deemed non-suspicious

UPDATE: Lethbridge Police have determined the package to be non-suspicious. 

Police are clearing the scene and members of the public may resume use of the area.

No further information will be released as the matter is non-criminal in nature.

Lethbridge Police are currently on scene at Extendicare along the 100 block of Fairmont Boulevard South investigating a suspicious package. 

Members of the Explosive Disposal Unit have been deployed and the front lobby has been evacuated as a precaution. 

At this time residents of the facility have not been evacuated but police will continue to assess the situation as the investigation progresses. Visitors will not be permitted entry to the building at this time.

Please avoid the area.
