Partners in Policing Forum to explore community challenges, opportunities for collaboration
The Lethbridge Police Service will host a Partners in Policing Forum in early November, bringing together community partners and members of the public to discuss public safety challenges and identify new opportunities for collaboration.
Partnerships in policing are a cornerstone of community safety – and safety itself is a shared responsibility.
“Community partners and citizens are co-producers of safety, not merely external stakeholders,” said Chief Shahin Mehdizadeh. “Effective collaboration requires communication, understanding, participation and a shared path forward.”
The Partners in Policing Forum will take place on Tuesday, November 4, from 3 to 5 p.m. at the Lethbridge Trade and Convention Centre, Salon A.
The event will feature breakout group discussions focused on key crime and public safety challenges facing Lethbridge. Participants will have the opportunity to share insights and explore innovative approaches to strengthen collaboration, enhance problem-solving and build safer communities together.
Community partners currently engaged with LPS have been invited, and citizens are also encouraged to take part in the conversation.
Residents interested in attending are asked to register in advance: https://forms.lethbridgepolice.ca/Registration-PIPF
As part of registration, participants will be asked: “What are the most pressing public safety challenges impacting our community?” Responses will help guide discussion topics and ensure meaningful engagement during the Forum.
Registration closes Friday, October 31.
All input is valuable. The feedback gathered during the Forum will help shape the Service’s operational priorities and inform both annual and long-term strategic planning.
A summary report highlighting key outcomes will be shared publicly following the event.
