Police charge male in connection with numerous commercial thefts
Lethbridge Police have charged a 36-year-old Taber man in connection with numerous commercial break-ins and thefts throughout southern Alberta.
In late October, members of the Property Crimes Unit initiated an investigation into several local commercial break and enters and retail thefts involving a male subject. Through collaboration with other southern Alberta law enforcement agencies, the male was arrested without incident on November 10.
The investigation determined the male was responsible for a total of 11 incidents between September 3 and November 10 in Lethbridge, Coaldale, Picture Butte, Taber and Redcliffe, including the theft of license plates, two flat deck trailers, truck parts, a utility trailer, fuel tanks, fuel and fleeing from police. The value of the stolen property is approximately $40,000.
Tyler Kelly Blake, 36, of Taber, is charged with two counts of theft over $5,000, three counts of theft under $5,000, two counts of flight from police, two counts of break and enter and commit theft over $5,000, break and enter and commit theft under $5,000 and possession of stolen property.
Blake was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in court January 15, 2026.
