Police charge male with repeated dairy thefts

Lethbridge Police have charged an 18-year-old male in connection with the theft of more than $2,000 in dairy products from a downtown drug store.

Between August 8 and August 30, a male subject entered Shoppers Drug Mart along the 500 block of 1 Avenue South numerous times and stole significant quantities of ice cream and milk. The total value of the stolen goods is estimated between $2,000 and $3,000.

Video surveillance images of the male were provided to police and, on August 30, members of the Downtown Policing Unit were on patrol when they observed a male matching the description of the subject. He was subsequently arrested without incident.

James St. Pierre Eagle Tail Feathers, of Lethbridge, is charged with 10 counts of theft under $5,000.

Eagle Tail Feathers was released from custody with conditions not to attend the Park Place Mall or any Shoppers Drug Mart locations.

On September 10, the accused was found in breach of his release conditions and arrested.

Eagle Tail Feathers is remanded in custody and is scheduled to appear in court today.
