Police charge two males with first degree murder

Lethbridge Police have charged two males with first degree murder in connection with the death of a 27-year-old man.

On March 27 around 6:30 a.m., police and EMS responded to a report of an assault at an apartment complex along the 200 block of 7 A Avenue South. Upon arrival, an unresponsive male was located inside one of the units and later pronounced deceased at the scene. The victim has been identified as a 27-year-old Lethbridge man.

The investigation, being treated as a homicide, was assumed by members of the Criminal Investigation Section. 

On March 28, two male subjects were arrested without incident and subsequently charged. 

Police have evidence indicating this was a targeted incident between parties known to one another.

Darcy Andrew Medicine Crane, 43, and Jordan Frank North Peigan, 27, both of Lethbridge, are each charged with one count of first degree murder. Both subjects are remanded in custody. 

Medicine Crane is scheduled to appear in court today and North Peigan will appear in court April 7.

The investigation is ongoing and further charges have not been ruled out.
