Police seize drugs and concealed weapons following traffic stop

Lethbridge Police have charged three females and one male with drug and concealed weapons offences following a traffic stop.

On September 23, 2025, police responded to a report from the Alberta Sheriff’s Safer Community and Neighbourhoods (SCAN) Unit regarding a suspicious vehicle parked illegally in an alleyway.  Conducting a traffic stop on the identified truck, the officers observed open liquor and tax-exempt cigarettes inside of the vehicle. Subsequent searches of the vehicle and subjects revealed 28.7 grams of marihuana in unlabelled packaging, 2.4 grams of cocaine, 2.7 grams of fentanyl and 5.8 grams of methamphetamine, along with one restricted shotgun, two baseball bats and numerous knives. All of the vehicle occupants were arrested and charged.

Lauren Frances Korczak, 41, of Lethbridge, received several drug related tickets and is charged with unauthorized possession of a firearm/weapon in vehicle, knowingly possessing an unauthorized firearm, two counts of possession of a controlled substance, failing to comply with the conditions of an undertaking, and four counts of failing to comply with the conditions of a release order. Following a Judicial Interim Release hearing, Korczak was remanded into custody and is scheduled to appear in court on October 16, 2025. 

Chad William Mondoux, 35, of Lethbridge, is charged with unauthorized possession of a firearm/weapon in vehicle, knowingly possessing an unauthorized firearm, three counts of possessing a prohibited firearm, and possession of a controlled substance. Following a Judicial Interim Release hearing, Mondoux was remanded into custody and is scheduled to appear in court on October 16, 2025. 

Anna Kathrin Switzer, 35, of Lethbridge, received several traffic and drug related tickets and is charged with unauthorized possession of a firearm/weapon in vehicle and knowingly possessing an unauthorized firearm. Following a Judicial Interim Release hearing, Switzer was remanded into custody and is scheduled to appear in court on September 29, 2025. 

Lisa Michelle Plato (Vold), 46, of Lethbridge, is charged with unauthorized possession of a firearm/weapon in vehicle and knowingly possessing an unauthorized firearm. Following a Judicial Interim Release hearing, Plato (Vold) was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in court on November 5, 2025.
