Traffic Safety

Every month, the Government of Alberta and law enforcement agencies from around the province draw attention to selected areas of traffic safety.

Traffic Safety Spotlight

  • Pedestrian Safety

Ensuring our roads are safe is a shared responsibility between drivers and pedestrians. As the days get shorter and we have less daylight, it's even more important that pedestrians take steps to make sure they are seen by drivers.

  • Police reminding drivers and pedestrians to focus on safety as new school year gets underway

As students head back to class and vehicle and pedestrian volumes increase around local schools, Lethbridge Police are reminding motorists to slow down, stay alert and obey the rules of the road.

  • New Drivers

The Select Traffic Enforcement Program focus for August is on new drivers.

  • Commercial Vehicle Safety

June is Commercial Vehicle month and police are reminding all drivers to do their part to share the road safely.

  • Motorcycle Road Safety

With the arrival of warmer weather, more motorcycles are hitting the road and it's important for all drivers to be aware.
