In the interest of public safety, the Lethbridge Police Service is issuing the following warning in regard to a high-risk offender who is residing in Lethbridge.
Lethbridge Police charged five people with drug and weapons offences following a short-term investigation into a problem property on the southside.
Lethbridge Police have charged a male and female with drug offences and seized fentanyl and methamphetamine following an early morning traffic stop.
Lethbridge Police seized a firearm from a southside home and charged a 69-year-old male with threats and weapons offences following a high-risk incident over the weekend.
Members of the Lethbridge Police Service will be participating in a training scenario Tuesday, April 8 from 7:30 a.m. until 4 p.m. in the river valley near Pavan Park.
There will be a highly visible police presence in the area during this time. Training signs will also be posted.
There is no risk to the public.
The Lethbridge Police Service and Wounded Warriors Canada recently partnered to deliver Down Regulation Skills Training (DRS-T) – the first of its kind in North America – developed for police officers and other responders who regularly face the threat of death, serious injury or violence.
The Lethbridge Police Service and Lethbridge and Area Search and Rescue Association will be conducting a training scenario today, April 5, 2025, from 1:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m.
The exercise will take place near Henderson Lake and residents may see police vehicles and activity in the area.
There is no risk to the public.
The Alberta Serious Incident Response Team (ASIRT) is investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a 59-year-old male, who went into medical distress while in police custody and died in hospital just over a week later.
