Joint disaster emergency response exercise

Lethbridge Fire/EMS, Lethbridge Police Service, Lethbridge 911 and Alberta Health Services are conducting a joint disaster emergency response exercise in Lethbridge on Wednesday, October 24, 2018.

Police investigating assault

Lethbridge Police are investigating after a woman was assaulted in her garage. 

On October 6, 2018 at approximately 10 p.m. a 24-year-old woman returned to her residence along the 2200 block of 18 Avenue South. She noticed her garage door was open and when she went inside to investigate was grabbed from behind by an unknown person who struck her head against the wall before fleeing. 

Police responded and a K9 track was conducted with negative results. The suspect was wearing dark clothing, including a black toque and hoody. 

ASIRT called to investigate serious injury

On October 3, 2018 at approximately 5:16 p.m. the Lethbridge Police Service received a report of a physical altercation between two people in the alley along the 300 Block of Stafford Drive South. An officer arrived on scene to find two men present. One of the men was determined to be in breach of bail conditions and was placed under arrest. A confrontation occurred between the remaining man and the officer that resulted in the man falling backwards and hitting his head on the pavement.
