Three people charged in connection with two stabbings

Police have charged three people in connection with two stabbings. 

On August 3, 2018 at approximately 3:10 p.m. police were called to the 300 block of 7 Street South after receiving a report that a male had been stabbed. The male was transported to Chinook Regional Hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries.

At approximately 7:04 p.m. police were called to a second stabbing along the 600 block of 3 Avenue South where another male was transported to hospital and treated for his injuries.

Police seeking assistance to identify robbery suspects

Lethbridge Police are seeking the public’s assistance to identify suspects in a recent street robbery.

On July 17, 2018 at approximately 10 p.m. a male was walking in the area of Mayor Magrath Drive and 3 Avenue South when he was approached by two unknown males. The males asked the victim to buy them alcohol and when he refused he was attacked. One male held the victim down while the other male assaulted him until he lost consciousness. When the victim woke up he found that his wallet and other personal property had been stolen.

Male and female charged with robbery

Lethbridge Police have charged a 26-year-old woman and 25-year-old man in connection with robbery and assault Tuesday at a local grocery store.

Body of presumed drowning victim recovered

The body of a 14-year-old boy who drowned in the Oldman River last Friday has now been recovered. 

On July 13, 2018 at approximately 7:30 p.m two kayakers located a body in the Oldman River just north of the city limits that matched the description of the missing 14-year-old boy. Lethbridge Fire and Emergency Services, the Coalhurst Fire Department and the RCMP assisted with the recovery. 

The boy’s body will be transported to the Medical Examiner’s Office in Calgary to confirm his identity and the police investigation will remain active pending the results of an autopsy.
